Establishment & Early History

The mosque was established in 1976 by dedicated local musallis and community members, including Haji Hasan Shahib, Haji Abdus Salam, Delavar Hussain, Kamal Uddin, Ayeen Ullah, Hashmoth Ali, and others. After significant effort and perseverance, the community secured premises at 204A from Camden Council, designating it as a place of worship.

Recognising the need for long-term stability, the local community worked tirelessly to acquire the property as a freehold. In 1993, a new mosque committee was formed, with Haji Basharat Ali serving as President, Haji Monir Uddin as Vice President, and Mr Samir Uddin as Secretary. However, after two months, Mr Samir Uddin resigned, and the committee unanimously appointed Mr M. Mobashir Ali as General Secretary to lead the efforts in purchasing the property with the generous support and donations of local musallis.

Development & Rebuilding

Under the leadership of Mr M. Mobashir Ali and the unwavering support of the community, the mosque successfully obtained full freehold ownership from Camden Council. Planning permission was subsequently granted to rebuild the mosque. In 1995, the original building was demolished, and construction of a new mosque commenced, funded entirely by the local community and musallis‘ donations.

Since then, Mr M. Mobashir Ali, alongside the community and committee members, has worked diligently to establish and sustain the mosque as a centre of worship and community engagement.
